Harry N Imhoff Jr was born on June 17, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a star athlete at Mount St Joseph High School and signed with the Baltimore Orioles immediately after graduation.

 

Imhoff spent spring training 1944 with the Orioles including games against the Philadelphia Athletics on March 26 and the Boston Red Sox on April 4. However, he played only one regular season game before entering military service. The young catcher served with the Marines and was killed in action at Okinawa in early 1945. He was just 19 years old.
